Looks like you are correct:  I copy the file location that bibdesk has recorded
and try to open it I get:

open "/Users/rhaynes/Zotero/storage/LMCY6MNG/Owen et al. - 2017 - Comparison of
Surrogate-Based Uncertainty Quantifi.pdf"
The file /Users/rhaynes/Zotero/storage/LMCY6MNG/Owen et al. - 2017 - Comparison
of Surrogate-Based Uncertainty Quantifi.pdf does not exist

While doing a ls on the file gives:

ls /Users/rhaynes/Zotero/storage/LMCY6MNG/Owen\ et\ al.\ -\ 2017\ -\
Comparison\ of\ Surrogate-Based\ Uncertainty\ Quantifi.pdf
/Users/rhaynes/Zotero/storage/LMCY6MNG/Owen et al. - 2017 - Comparison of
Surrogate-Based Uncertainty Quantifi.pdf

Odd - I wonder why the file name that zotero outputs doesn’t agree with the
actual location?

Sincerely,

Dr. Ronald D. Haynes
