Hi David,  Yes, I was referring to O.D. of the tire, and I think my
terminology is right referring to it as tire circumference.  I looked
at your photo.  The 50 mm Big Apple (700c) will fit in my front fork
as it is 60 mm wide, and i'm sure it would fit in the Surly LHT's rear
triangle but I have added the Xtracycle free rad and with the oe Conti
Contact tires, I have but only a few more millimeters to spare,
between the rear tire and the frame of the free rad (front and back)
