Hi Peter, I have been thinking about installing a set of 50 mm Big Apple tires on my 700c Surly LHT (58cm) Front should fit w/o issues (fatties fit fine, or so they claim) but I'm rolling with an Xtracycle in the rear and room between the frame rails in front and back of the tire that's on there now (Conti Contact) is quite limited
My question is, how does the Big Apple 50 mm tire circumference compare with the 700 c Conti Contact, if you know? If it's the same or smaller, it wouldn't be an issue fitting the rear in the X frame (I'd imagine) Then there's the rim width issue. The stock rims are Alex Adventurer (622 X 18) Thought I read on Schwalbe's site the 700c 50 mm tire likes a wider rim?
