Friend of mine has the Brooks grips, and is very unhappy with them. According to him, the grips only attach at the ends. The leather "washers" are held in place by heavy wire, and are not fixed in place. They end up squirming and moving around a lot. Look cool, but are annoying to him to use and possibly dangerous in a panic stop situation. Again, according to him.
YMMV Have you seen the new wood grips @ Rivbike? They look pretty cool. Those or the cork grips, which I've always liked and available at your LBS.
