As you can see, there's an aluminum end cap with a piece of leather to
cover the hole, and I've been told it comes right out--but I wonder if
the hole is big enough to insert the male aspect of the shifter body?
Probably not (it appears that the end cap would cover too much of the
handlebar end), but since I'm a big fan of Sisyphus, I'll give it a
go!
