I am refitting 2 bikes. I have short cage Campagnolo 10 speed rear derailleurs for both. With a 13-29 cassette chain wrap would be only 16 (single front) on one bike and 20 (double front) on the other. Now Campagnolo recommends maximum 26T cog for short cage but with chain wrap numbers so small will a 29T cog work or is it likely to cause a problem?
I want the quickest and smoothest indexing possible even if I have to give up a gear (or 2) but if I can squeeze out another gear with no degradation of shifting feel then I'll go with 13-29.
