Hello werty (well you didn't sign your name, did you).
I have corrected your top posting this time, but may just delete top posted
mails in the future.

Interesting attribution block. Most mailers just add a single line in a
time/date user name format.
I deleted the mailing list footers that you failed to do.

Yes, that's normal. It's I not i ;-) Yes I'm being pedantic, but there is
a point, not matter how trivial. No, you don't have to be perfect, but
making the same mistake repeatedly, should be corrected so you can learn.

Well you lost me. That doesn't make any sense.

Start reading at the top, giving a greeting is normal. Answering one or
several questions at the top which people have to continually scroll down to
see what you are referring to is annoying. Once Two or Three people do the
same, it becomes unreadable. When you have been around for a long time and
are on a lot of lists, in my case, presently 27, it is intolerable.
The delete key works well though ;-)

Interesting. I use top to bottom (normal) flow.
On long articles, this is a greeting, then trim, then an answer, continue
reading, more trimming, another answer, trim and add a goodbye.
It's call interspersing replies and is logical and easy to read.
The only annoyances are when peoples mailers (MUA) fail to quote and attribute
properly and I have to add quotation and corrections.
But you are free to do what you want. If you choose to ignore 25+ years of
netiquette rules, then don't be surprised if people correct you, complain, or
stop responding to your mails as they are too annoying. I suppose this is
what the Americans call 'peer pressure'.
The point of sending the original mail to the list was to enlighten people who
were unaware that rules even exist and providing relevant links so they could
learn how to present themselves better.
If you choose to ignore the advice and deliberately flout the rules, then your
Internet experience will be coloured accordingly.
But that will be your choice and your responsibility and you will have no-one
to blame but yourself.
Enough said. It was an informational announcement. As far as I am concerned,
this thread is dead.
Regards...Martin
