Hello Bernd.

I was hoping this was dead but need to respond out of politeness.

I don't see any point in insulting people. It was an informational guidance
mail. That's why I added links so people could easily go and learn or
investigate for themselves. People will do their own thing. But at least
they are aware of the issues and that is important.

Netiquette is well defined and has been for a very long time and there are
many more sites than I have alluded to. Google netiquette.
There is even a RFC 1855. Unfortunately, like many RFC's it is loosely
defined. This is nothing unusual with RFC's, as I am sure you well know.

Well work is one thing. Posting to newsgroups and mailing lists is another.
It's not black and white but flexible, as you full well know.

No. I have been seeing an upsurge on the mailing lists I am on, 27 at the
present count, so I thought, as list maintainer, that I would cobble together
an informational mail for the 22 lists I run. Education is a wonderful
thing.

I've already made some changes to the original mail and will probably put it
on a web site and link to it in the future.

Making people aware is the most important thing.

Marrandy is fine.

Call me Martin if you like.

I'll change my mailers just because I'm a good net citizen :-)

Regards...Martin
