Not sure if you were joking on this, but many alternative transportation folks will point out that electric cars, hydrogen cars, and hybrid cars are still CARS. While I am not one of those people that believes that cars are inherently evil, the infrastructure and governmental structures that are needed to make them useful: big roads, parking lots, other impermeable surfaces, police and EMS services for crashes, enviromental remediation for air or water due to pollution and run-off (air pollution may be lessened, but water is still running off), health services because people drive instead of walk/bike, and all sorts of other personal and social costs are very expensive compared to building communities where driving is lessened and other transportation choices are easier. After all - why buy a hydrogen car when you can walk to the bus, quickly be transported to work or shopping and then repeat on the way home? Owning a car - of any sort - should be optional, not expected. _______________________________________________ Bikies mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.danenet.org/mailman/listinfo/bikies
