Yeah, this mess has come up a couple of times on Bikies. Grrrrr.... every time I figure out a new route through a construction zone, they screw that up too! Good thing I'm not easily detered from biking. But it still beats driving.
The options for westbound bicyclists seem to be: University Ave Lakeshore Path south of Dayton The problem with this last option is that there is no through street between Bedford (where Mifflind ends) and Park - where Spring St starts. I supposed we can weave through the parking lots between Bedford and Murry, but then you have to go on Regent to the beginning of Spring. Yikes - Regent and Park during peak time.... not pretty. Univ Ave is just so unpleasant due to the amount of traffic and the poor condition of the road surface. Those seams give me a jolt about a dozen times per block. The Lakeshore path is fine - as long as it's not wet! You also need a really good light at night to avoid hitting a big hole wear the surface has eroded. Have they finished the construction on the eastern end? Ah, construction season. As I said, it still beats driving through that mess!
