I zapped Robbies post before I thought of something so I'll start from scratch.
Robbie noticed that motor vehicles were involved with all the carnage. I noticied that alcohol was involved in at least two of the incidents and possibly the bridge incident. We tried banning alcohol and do have laws governing its use. No easy answers for either of these concerns.
