The phrase "elighten Mr. Kroc" is, to me, a contradiction in terms. I actually sit the fence on baiting "people" like him with more commentary. Like sharks (I know, this isn't very respectful of sharks, but...), jocks like Kroc feed on stirred waters; controversy is good for ratings. But ratings only have meaning when they translate into ad revenue. The real target here is the advertisers. If they know there's an active boycott of them as long as they advertise on his show, it might send a message they, as well as Kroc (and station management), can understand.
This is absolutely true. Remember when the 3rd grade bully stole some kid's lunch money then held his face in the dirt as he pleaded, with many good reasons, to get it back? And all the bystanders laughed?
Unfortunately, the way things are now going, you have to bite back or you will appear to be a victim, just begging for more dirt.
So, my advice (sorry I won't be able to listen) is to go even more over the top than the dj is and with great humor. And since it's the end of the day my brain is nearing shutdown so right now I can't offer many good ideas but I'm sure those of you with fresher brains might be able to think of something.
You can be armed with laws, statutes, facts and figures, but the dj and those who are tuned to hear his brand of show, is/are not really interested in laws, statutes, facts and figures.
I don't know . . . It just seems like there are too many of us still living in the olden days - when reasoned argument was good enough to win the day (what ho!) but we are out of that time now. Now it's WWE and Howard Stern and Jackass - bigger, grosser, meaner. And, while there are some mythical figures who have done battle with the enemy armed only with a lowly slingshot or a pure heart, most of those people end up as flat as Bambi meets Godzilla

I once heard of a protest rally put on in my town by a group I didn't agree with (let's just say it was a group of people picketing at a local clinic.) Three of us got out the costume bag, put on crazy wigs, hats and 40's dresses, made posters that were even more outrageous than the posters the protesters would carry and walked around with them. They had no idea who the heck we were and I think one of our posters (something like Repeal all rights for women) made the paper. Maybe this wasn't the best thing to do, but we felt better afterward and at least a few passersby seemed to get the jist of what we were doing.
My god! It's only Monday and I'm already Friday-pessimistic!

btw - in our quest to get some action on the bike boxes our campus has had for 2 years with no action, now there are posters up around campus - Need Bike STORAGE? Now all we have to do is convince the powers that be that bike PARKING does not equal bike STORAGE!
