Does anybody know how much of the trail is now paved? The whole thing?
The fact that you noticed part of the trail being paved outside of Dodgeville proves that you are a very fine-detailed observer. Especially while traveling on that highway in a speed in excess of 60 mph.
There are small stretches of the Military Ridge Trail that are actually
paved from Verona to Dodgeville. The longest stretch is probably around
500 feet between Ridgeway and Dodgeville. There is also a patch between
Mount Horeb and Blue Mounds, also between Riley and Klevenville, and probably a few more that I cannot think of at this moment.
The entire trail from the Military Ridge Trail parking lot in Verona all the way into Madison at Hwy PD is paved. Thus the reason for seeing roller blades and such on that section of the trail.
