The other trail you saw near Dodgeville is the new Shake Rag Trail
which connects Dodgeville to Shake Rag Street in Mineral Point.
About 1/3 of this facility (at the north end) is separated trail and the
rest is newly paved 5-foot shoulders/bike lanes on the adjacent
former state highway which is now a county highway (I think it is
CTH YD). WisDOT financed and designed the entire connection.
Iowa County maintains the trail portion just south of Dodgeville,
which also includes a separate bridge over USH 151 at the STH 23
interchange. There is no trail fee.
