You need to first contact the Police Department's Property Room to
report the bicycle as found/abandoned and see if they have a record of
it being reported stolen. If it has not been reported stolen, and
continues to be not reported stolen for a period of time (they will tell
what length of time this is) then I think the finder can keep or give
away or otherwise dispose of the bike. The phone number for the Police
Property Room is 266-4955.

Subject: [Bikies] abandoned bicycle

I've noticed what appears to be an abandoned bicycle near where I
regularly park my bike at work. Not locked, but it has a flat tire. No
license tag. So far it hasn't been vandalized. Its a decent
new-looking entry level mountain bike with a front shock and shock seat
post.

Any ideas for finding a good home for this bike before it gets
vandalized or stolen "again"? (I do not want to be party to a previous
crime!)
