To report an abandoned bicycle, call the Police Property Room at 266-4955.
Notwithstanding the several suggestions I received otherwise (Red Bikes, Wheels for Winners, etc.), one should report an abandoned bicycle to the Police, who have a "bicycle person". (I don't imagine charities want to unknowingly receive stolen property, folks!) If the bike is unlocked it will be picked up by the police in a day or two. If locked the bike will first be tagged and in a week the lock cut and the bike picked up then. The police will attempt to match the bike with their records of reported missing and stolen bicycles. Presumably if it is not claimed it goes into the city auction next year.
