This is one of my major pet peeves with the Dane County Airport. I can
more easily get to O'Hare than to our own airport. And from my house -
only a 15 minute drive, a cab is $25! I can take the Van Galder to
Chicago for that. And none of the hotels downtown will allow people to
ride their shuttle unless you are a guest, even if you pay them. And the
"remote" parking has no shuttle and is hell-and-gone away from the
terminal, so if it is raining or you have extra luggage, you really
don't want to walk there.
Might I suggest that anyone who really wants to make some progress on
this contact the county Airport Commission?

Metro will only provide better service if the county pays for it.
Kathleen Falk has always made a big deal out of trying to increase
traffic at Dane County Airport, but since getting out there is such a
pain, I rarely use it.

Given they want more parking at the airport, I decided the check out the bus
service to the airport. Looks like only route 24 services the airport and it
just comes from the N. transfer point (no direct route from the square):

Also, 24 does not run on holidays and weekends. So would a few million buy
"real" bus service to the airport so we could skip the extra parking?
