Livingston St. reconstruction design plans will be reviewed at the
Board of Public Works tomorrow, Wednesday, at 4:30, in Room 103A of
the City County Building. They plans do include back in angle
parking and a bump-out at the bike path, but no table top
design. Can you please share with MarqNA?
Thanks.
Judy

The plans will be presented to the Board of Public Works tomorrow
night and we will not propose a tabletop at this location.

I am not sure that I like the table top here with the grades that we
are dealing with. I also prefer the 6 inch curb with a curb type
ramp for the bike path with the hope that it better discourages
vehicular traffic on the bike path.
If there is a strong need for the table top we can try to work
through these problems but these are my thoughts.

Attached is our preliminary design for Livingston Street. TE
approved the angled parking and the bumpout at the bike path. We
weren't aware of a requirement to tabletop the crossing but it could
be added if necessary.

Rob, was there ever discussion of tabletopping Livingston at the
Isthmus bike path as part of the nearby redevelopment? Also, will
TE determine if angle parking will be allowed?

Christy,
I am forwarding John Coleman's question to you concerning
reconstruction of s. Livingston St. I feel that it is probably too
early for detailed plans, but clearly there is great interest in those plans.
John,
I did forward Christy's e-mail to Scott Lewis also.

judy,
i see in christy's email (see underlined section) that
Livingston from willy to the bike path is scheduled for
reconstruction. How does this fit in with the scott lewis project
and his desire for angled parking. I haven't seen any final plans
for the street in that block and when i brought it up with scott
last November he said it would be worked out later. In particular
there was discussion of having a narrowing of the street and a
speed table at the bike path so that the path did not dip tot he
level of the street but rather the street rose to the level of the path.
Have I missed something related to this? I'd like to get hold
of the plan for Livingston if there is one. If there isn't yet a
plan, I'd be interested in putting in my 2 cents worth concerning
Livingston and the bike path.
thanks,
john
p.s. i cc'd chuck and mike since they have had some interest in
Livingston and bikes.

Willy Street from Blount to Thornton is scheduled for resurfacing
(not reconstruction) in 2009. The work will include the replacement
of sanitary sewer and possibly some storm and water main. Work on
side streets will probably be limited. Design would not take place
until late 2008 or early 2009. Occasionally we underground but have
only done so on reconstructions. The last few projects I have been
involved with were funded with TIFF or paid by the adjacent property
owners, seems MG&E funds are harder to come by.
We do have Livingston from Willy Street north to the bike path
scheduled for reconstruction in 2007. I will be contacting MG&E to
see if extending the limits northerly to E. Main makes sense.
Jennifer Street from Wily Street to Livingston is scheduled for
reconstruction in 2008.
Let me know if there are any further questions, Christy.
