Have you seen the "Bikely" website, at http://www.bikely.com ?  It's a
Google-maps based tool that allows users to record their favorite bike
routes for everyone to retrieve.  There are already a number of Madison
area routes stored in the system:
http://www.bikely.com/listpaths/country/254/region/170/city/11582.  If a
route is sufficiently annotated, you can even retrieve it as a cue sheet
(see, for example, the "Capital City Route" on the Madison area page).

I think the Bikely website might have some interesting applications for
organizing the Madison bike community.
