Richard:

You've said quite alot there...I'll leave it up to Pam to comment on the bulk
of it. I don't recall ever having read that Pam opposes restricted grants from
industry, though. What I read was:
"I stated that their role [industry] should be minimal with regard to BFW
policy. They certainly can provide insight and work in an advisory function,
however, any monetary donation should not come with strings attached."

I do feel the need to comment on this, though:
"The second reason is Pam's open criticism of the board and close relationship
with Dar. That combination is surely bound to hurt the ability of the board
to function properly. Nobody cannot realistically expect, if elected, that
the board will suddenly decide to reverse course, fire Jack Hirt and rehire
Dar. There is no point to try to rehash the past. We can all expect that Pam
to be a disruptive force in board meetings and in other ways. How are
cyclists across the state of Wisconsin served by this?"

It's really none of your business who Pam is friends with (was who YOU were
friends with ever discussed in terms of whether or not it qualified you to
serve on the BFW board?)...but I'll reiterate what I've already said, which is
that I am 100% certain that Pam isn't doing this for me in any way, shape, or
form. Further, I do not believe that she has made any statement implying that
she would push for me to be rehired. And finally, I wouldn't take the job if
offered to me. This is simply not the issue at hand. You are way, way off
base.

I have known Pam for five years, and I believe that you have known her longer.
Anyone who knows her, knows her to be a thoughtful and reasonable person who
cares deeply about bicycling. I think that your post is an uncalled for
assault on her character and is extremely misleading.

If we could stick to what people have actually said and done (and what they say
they intend to do), rather than making up things that have not been said or
done, that would probably be more productive in moving the discussion forward.
