That's a tough call. On the one hand, given the icy conditions, it provides the best surface to travel by bike on. However, my experience has shown that those pesky horseless carriage drivers seem to lack a basic understanding of the concept of "safe following distance" on slippery roads. One Icy day, I tried using the road at 4:30pm on Willy street, and cars were following me with less than five feet of following distance, honking at me constantly, and generally displaying a disregard for section 346 of the Wisconsin state statutes. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of -john martin Sent: Tuesday, December 04, 2007 9:59 AM To: BikiesSubmissions Subject: [Bikies] Re: It's a Sport! Just tried University "with Flow" and gave it up in less than 1/2 a block. Hah! So here's my question -- do we bike in traffic on University? I have no problem with this on Park st. when the "bike lane" is unplowed (or torn up), but I can't remember ever seeing any bikes ever in a "car lane" on University. John
