Dipesh, There is just such a bike route marked on the 1997 city bike route map, along the golf course from the Glenway/Speedway corner, northeast for a couple hundred feet, then hooking due east (across from Waverly) another couple hundred feet away from Speedway, then continuing northeast parallel to Speedway within the cemetery (this may be a cemetery road), then turning north a couple hundred feet, to the sidewalk at the cemetery entrance. You can then either get into the right lane on Speedway-Regent or stay on the sidewalk, to turn onto Virginia Terrace to head north to the SW path.

Was there ever any consideration given to building a bike path somewhere around the Mineral Point Road/Speedway transition connecting to the SW path? I live in the Sunset Village neighbourhood, and my options going east are either to do a diversion south to Glenway to pick up the SW path, or go north to the busy intersection of Speedway, Highland and Regent. I've always thought a bike path along the northern edge of the golf course connecting to the SW path would be great. I like the greenspace created by Forest Hill Cemetery and the golf course, but it ends up acting like yet another lake in terms of how it bottlenecks routes heading east. Even a connector going through the cemetery and coming out onto Virginia Terrace so one can easily take the side streets but avoid the West HS bottleneck would be great...but clearly that would require obtaining land between existing homes, which wouldn't be easy. Thanks!
