Interesting that it's listed as an "MV/Ped" crash. When I got hit, almost
ten years ago now, it was categorized as such, even though I was going
aprx. 20 MPH in the middle of my lane. I contacted the reporting officer
about this, and she was able to change the description, but evidently she
couldn't change the "category" or "type" of crash. Gotta wonder how many
times this happens, and what impact it has on any statistical analysis of
traffic crashes involving bicycles.

Details At approx. 9:23 pm, Madison Police was dispatched to the 4300 block
of Melody Ln reference a MV/PED. The 23 yr old Madison resident was riding
his bicycle EB on Crest Line Dr when a collision occurred with a Madison
Metro Bus. The 23 yr old male was transported to a local hospital with
serious injuries. At this time the collision is still under investigation .
