any chance we can petition the army corps of engineers to mcgiver a pontoon
bike route around the construction zone?

If the construction had been done in winter (and I assume that it could not
be done in winter), then it would not have been all that difficult to put
temporary ramps from the path down to the ice and back so that those of us
with studded tires (which would be almost all of us who ride all winter)
could detour around the construction and continue down the path.

I vaguely recall something similar used to facilitate getting folks on and
off the lake for Kites on Ice back when it was held off Monona Terrace.
