Monroe just east of Glenway -- is that Arboretum property?

I used to love those flowers -- though I sort of wondered why phlox was
blooming so early -- but now that I know that they are invasive, I have mixed
feelings about them.

Even so, they don't bother me as much as the groves of garlic mustard I see
along the path, or the Japanese knotweed forest next to the Cemetery.

Called "Dame's Rocket" -- hesperis matronalis. If you really want to see
something, go down to Monroe street just east of Glenway (two blocks off the
path).

Looks similar to phlox, but it's actually a mustard relative -- blooms earlier
in the spring than phlox, and has 4 petals per flower instead of 5.

Often considered an invasive species...
