There's a fine alternative to walking through the construction at MM and Rimrock.

Going north on MM, just south Rimrock, you'll see a short path to the right that leads to Anderberg Rd. Anderberg hits Rimrock just after the construction. Years ago, Anderberg connected with Rimrock roughly along this path. Somebody recently mowed it --- maybe with a bike detour in mind.

If you're going from Rimrock to MM south, this path is good, too. You don't have to worry about crossing traffic on MM because the road's closed.

I have an important update from Adam Kopp: At my request he evaluated the passability of the construction site for bicyclists. He says that the work is exclusively between the curbs, and so cyclist can get through the area by walking bikes through the construction zone outside the curb. It's not ideal, but beats a three-mile detour.
