http://www.potosibrewery.com/events_detail.cfm?eventID=24 The Potosi Brewery is located in a coulee a few miles from the Mississippi River, near Platteville. The brewery was started in 1852 and operated until 1972. To keep the beer cool before the advent of refrigeration, they dug tunnels into the hillside to create storage caverns. The facility was renovated and reopened in the late 1990s, and now they sell a variety of beers using the same recipes as before. The biking event includes a routes a varying distances, that follow the beautiful and challenging coulees and bluffs along the Mississippi. Music and food at the finish. Bikes. Bluffs. Beer.
