George is right, it shouldn't so hard to get the information and provide input. We all do what we can, and if we each do a little, then the entire task gets easier, or as my dad used to say, "Many hands make light work."
Everyone on this list is doing something just by paying attention, reading and responding. And I'm going to try to make it easier to get your comments in my posting some photos I took of the displays (since it seems to take the DOT quite a bit of time to get their own materials up on their own web site.) I can't guarantee the quality of the photos, though. If you go to the page linked below, you can view the presentation from the March set of public meetings. Most of the information is the same, although there is more detail now. http://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/projects/d1/verona/public.htm#meetings Also from this page, you can read the Supplemental Draft Environmental Impact Statement (SDEIS) and comment on it by December 17. (The web site says Nov 3, but it looks like that has been changed to December 17.) Apparently, you have to snail mail your comments. From the web site: Comments can be recorded at both public hearings on October 13, 2010 and/or written comments can be mailed to: Mr. Joe Olson, SW Region Director Wisconsin Department of Transportation Southwest Region 2101 Wright Street Madison, WI 53704 2583 I would suggest looking at the Executive Summary, since that is only 20 pages. Again, this project will be presented at the Long Range Transportation Planning Committee, Thursday, Oct 21, 5 PM at the Municipal Bldg. At least that meeting you can have your comments recorded and heard publicly, instead of just written down by a court reporter. But it's a city meeting, not an official DOT meeting. I have some work do to tomorrow but will try to get the photos of the displays up as soon as possible.
