The one area that I know many people will wonder about is the transition
from the Campus Dr path to ??? going west.

The parking lot directly across U Bay Dr is private property, and the owner
gets very nervous about liability when people ride through that lot. She has
put up a sign saying "NO BIKES. Don't come through here!" [rough
translation]

Village of Shorewood Hills (VSH) knows this is a major problem, and has a
long term plan to make the transition better and safer. At a campus meeting
earlier this week, Karl Frantz said that there is a preliminary proposal to
redevelop the area just north of that parking lot, but the parking lot is a
separate parcel. VSH is committed to improving the situation, but it may be
awhile.

I'm really glad that Chuck is working with VSH, because, as a small
municipality, they don't have a staff to do bicycle-specific planning. I
have worked with them a bit, but Chuck is a much better person to fulfill
this role.

The other area that needs to be fixed - and VSH is aware of this - is the
area around the pool. They are trying to get an agreement from the RR to be
able to put a path between the pool and rail.

Sometimes things move slowly, but they do move. And that's good.
