Maybe Google would like to help. They already have:

* A way to tell how congested a roadway is via the GPS on people's phones.

* Bike routing directions (pretty good, but not perfect.) Madison was one
of the cities where it premiered. I was in the audience when they announced
it at the National Bike Summit (in 2009?)

* An office in Madison right on the East Isthmus Path. Probably a ton of
bicyclists in that office.

* Software and technological knowledge up the yin-yang.

With so many people hauling smart phones around in their bags and pockets,
we could have an app that would let people log-in with info and update in
real time. (Android, for me.)
