I've been battling this for years - just ask Robbie (I saw those eyes roll, missy!) - sometimes a brief chat and explanation to the offending driver can be quite effective. If the initial friendly explanation doesn't have the desired effect, a cell phone in hand with a verbal indication that you're calling someone to come and explain things further will usually elicit some reaction. And go ahead and make that call if you need to, a blocked bike lane/path is public hazard. (255-2345 is the non-emergency police dispatch number).

there was certainly no excuse for the Two Men and a Truck truck that was blocking the bike path by the garage entrance to the Fauerbach at around 4:15. It could have backed up five feet and people could have gotten by with relatively little inconvenience.

but at least I can forgive MGE, since

    a. the ground was probably not frozen, and
    b. the bucket arm only reaches so far.

I wasn't able to stick around to see whether they really needed to
    be on the path.
