I bought a generic Targus laptop bag at St. Vinnie's about 6-7 years
ago. Took the "guts" (steel side plate, hooks/straps, etc) from an old
pannier (nylon was shot) and transplanted them to the laptop bag. It's
been working fine ever since, although the outer case is looking a
little threadbare from everyday use.
