A few hundred feet is nothing for a car, often problematical for a bicyclist
who probably won¹t go out of his way just to be safer, and ridiculous for a
pedestrian. If you are a biker coming out of Raymond Road or going to
Raymond Road from the Allied Drive area, you probably won¹t go out of your
way to use that underpass.

I note that the State Journal says the intersection was redesigned to make
it safer for motorists. What about those on foot and on bike? I believe
there is a painted pedestrian crossing there, but that doesn¹t fix the
problem if truckers and motorists don¹t pay attention to lights. The trucks
barrel through this area going both directions as does all the motorized
traffic.
