Wow, the headline ("Bicyclist collides with car") makes it sound like the
bicyclist struck a car, but the police report clearly indicates that the
driver struck the bicyclist.  Or at least it says a woman was driving a car
when the bicyclist was struck.  I can't imagine why that fact would be
relevant unless the woman drove her car into the bicyclist.

It is truly amazing the lengths that the police go to shield drivers from
language that might imply they have a responsibility to ensure the safety of
others on the road.

And of course, it seems reporters are more than willing to extend that
courtesy as far as re-wording the story to affix blame on the bicyclist.
