The cyclist would have had to have been headed eastbound if he was crossing
Lumbermans (westbound on CGR has you crossing Atlas).

He could have been travelling on the sidewalk (a lot of cyclists do this
here), in the bike lane (less likely since it is not maintained in the
winter and is in very bad condition right now), or in a main traffic lane.

If he didn't run a red, then either the car ran a red coming from Atlas
(not likely), or it was a right hook with the car going into Culver's
(likely) or it was a westbound car on CGR turning left onto Lumbermans
(also likely). There's a lot of cars here and they move fast. There are
also a lot of turning cars east and west bound CGR onto Lumbermans and onto
Atlas which makes for a lot of distractions and quick decisions.
