I ride through there a lot. It's a good way to get out of town on a bike
(Vernon to Leo, secret bike path to Buckeye). When I read the article, I
imagined the bike was going eastbound and the westbound car probably turned
left to eat some saturated fat at Culver's.s

The report is "timed" 6:46 p.m., so unless the report was submitted a while
after the crash, it happened at night. That is a scary intersection in
that 95-98% of the traffic is going straight on CGR, except for turns into
Lum Trail for Culver's. Riding through there, I ALWAYS assume the motorist
is NOT going to see me, and proceed accordingly. (Since the bike path was
extended east between Dempsey and CGR--and there is the boulevard to wait
on if you're crossing CGR from the bike path--the city has designated about
six (maybe four?) feet as a bike lane, which is usually good enough, but in
the winter frozen slush usually takes up most of the lane.)
