I agree with Matthew. I don't know if the answer will be signage per se, but we do need to figure out how to better prevent this type of collision. What lessons were learned from this tragedy? For starters, the speed limit needs to be adjusted for this type of crossing. It sounds like if the cyclists stopped, checked both directions and went that the auto traffic goes too fast to accommodate a safe crossing. And of course the long game is to have people driving cars be expecting cyclists to be at these types of crossings even if they aren't always there. What else do you all suggest? Now is the time to brainstorm since the need for improvement has so tragically been brought to our attention. I bow my head in sadness and will be thinking of young Emily Zhu as I bicycle this summer. My heart also goes out to the driver who was caught unaware and has to live with being involved in Emily's tragic death for the rest of his life.
