I just wanted to say that I have been quietly using binc now for about
six months alongside CourierIMAP. Up until this latest version (1.2.3) I
was forced to keep CourierIMAP running as I could not get binc stable on
my system. There were various problems - the most common was too many
open files error after having my IMAP session running for several hours.

It was fixed after closing and reopening my mail client - Evolution,
Kmail, Thunderbird, and SquirrelMail. Anyway I upgraded to the latest
stable release not expecting too much improvement and the speed of
indexing large mailboxes seems to have increased by about 4 times!

Also I have never had any stability problems on the server side at all!
SquirrelMail is also massively improved due to the speed improvements
you have made. Whatever you tweaked with this release it was a massive
improvement - I don't bother starting the CourierIMAP service anymore!

All I am waiting for now, very eagerly, is the shared folder support :)
If you need any beta testers I would be more than happy to help.
Congratulations on binc - I personally believe that is mature enough now
to be used seriously in a production environment and I much prefer it to
CourierIMAP.

Keep up the great work!

Thanks,

Marcus
