Isn't the best place for the logs under /var/log/bincimap/ ?
The reason for this preferance is that I tend to put /var/log on its own partition. That way only that partition gets stuffed if "something" for some reason suddenly starts writing a lot of stuff to the logs. Yes I know, I ought to watch the logs, but as I am not a sys. adm. I tend to forget about them when things run smootely.
