All releases up to and including v1.2.3 had a problem with huge memory
consumption when processing big messages. I noticed that the softlimit
setting you have here:

/usr/local/bin/softlimit -m 3800000

Is 3.8 megabytes, which means Binc will abort when processing messages
larger than 3-3.5 megabytes. Versions after this have fixed this problem.

If you don't have a more recent port version available, you should just
download a tarball package and compile it, then copy the bincimap-up and
bincimapd files over the ones that came with the port.

On a side note: Sergei should update the port to 1.2.6 if he can :-).
