Thanks for the help - I couldn't find EXPUNGE in it either... But I don't understand what all filtering might go on in recordio (I notice it gor rid of LOGIN commands as well). The exact description of what I did to generate the error (I don't know if all of it is necessary, but it works) is... I sent myself two messages, and made sure they showed up in my INBOX in mutt. Then I opened one of the messages, and let it sit for 5-10 minutes with that message open. I sent myself another message (with a different mail client) while that message is open in mutt. Now, I have a macro in mutt for saving flags and saving to a new directory (basically, compresses $ and s commands). After the 5-10 minutes, I close the message and use my macro to save it to the trash (=Trash).
