makes it hard to find the motivation to check in more often.

True. Stable software is kind of boring ;-). But that's why we have 1.3,
and once it's mature enough for a 1.3.0 release (shouldn't be very long
now), we're sure to get loads of activity again.

I meant it as a good thing! :) qmail's lack of updates is frustrating at times. But to install a mail server, and then not have to upgrade it five years down the track is great .. perhaps an update every two years would be a nice compromise ;)
