I checked the list archives and saw a message dated Dec 29 from Blake Swopes. My problem is a 100% duplicate of his. You can read his entire post here :

I'll see if I can give a brief, but detailed, overview. Maybe someone can help..
First off, this is bincIMAP 1.2.11final. I've installed via RPM (recompiled via SRPM). Netqmail 1.0.5 with the SMTP-AUTH, TLS, and qmail-spp patches. Vpopmail 5.4.9, compiled with MySQL support.
The long and short is this. When logging in with the correct username and password, the logs show this :
@4000000041e5f37307772bc4 596 1 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:] <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> authentication failed: /home/vpopmail/bin/vchkpw died by signal 11
And when the username and password are incorrect, the logs show this :
@4000000041e5f83f2a08cbac 781 1 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:] <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> authentication failed: wrong userid or password
I have tested vchkpw via the command like as such :
[EMAIL PROTECTED] imap]# printf "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" | /home/vpopmail/bin/vchkpw id 3<&0
uid=89(vpopmail) gid=89(vchkpw) groups=0(root),1(bin),2(daemon),3(sys),4(adm),6(disk),10(wheel)
And, as you can see, it works.
So, what else can I provide to determine what the problem may be here? I tried a protocol dump with recordio, but either I did it wrong, or it's not working. (I'm going to continue hacking on it.. I suspect I screwed something up :)
