Two thoughts. First, do you use softlimit in your bincimapd run file?
No, is this recommended?
perhaps vchkpw is trying to allocate more memory to fetch that stuff out of mysql than you're allowing it to, and it doesn't do sufficient error checking to give you a good error message. Second, you're running that as ROOT. Test it with the actual user that bincimapd runs as.I determined the problem. There were 2. First, trying to get this running with very little sleep at 12am is not the best time.. :)
Second.. Commenting out lines in the run file doesn't work. *doh* ...
I have this working now.. Thanks for your quick responses.. It did give me a little to think about anyways.
In order to get binc to run as an alternate user, I need to add -u and -g to the tcpserver parameters, correct?
Hope that helps,
