Lastly, if I query a local host A record that works. The top of my dhcpd.conf file looks like: authoritative; ddns-domainname "redfish-solutions.com."; ddns-update-style standard; ddns-updates on; ignore client-updates; update-static-leases on; use-host-decl-names on; update-conflict-detection off; update-optimization off; include "/var/run/named/session.key"; zone redfish-solutions.com. { primary 127.0.0.1; key local-ddns; } zone 168.192.in-addr.arpa. { primary 127.0.0.1; key local-ddns; } My named.conf file contains: options { … // This is used e.g. by isc-dhcp allow-new-zones yes; … }; It’s probably something simple but at this point I can’t see the forest for the trees….
