LSID is still cooking, but is not widely accepted, but there are a number of people still pushing for it. IBM is the current caretaker. It remains to be seen whether it will be widely adopted by e.g. the sequence databases.

If it's all dead or dying maybe it should be deprecated or removed at a later date?
