Hi All,

I noticed several groupings of tree swallows back today at several of my
tree planting sites across Essex County today. The largest was 12 birds and
we had 7 in our backyard this morning. All told, maybe 50-60 birds.

Woodcock have been back around for a couple of weeks and displaying, but I
flushed two off of nests today with eggs near McGregor. One nest had
three eggs and the other two. It may be a little early, but the nidiology
books say April 2.

McGregor is south of Windsor and the 401 on Walker Road, and we're in
Leamington.

birders,

A Male Common Teal was present in the west cell at Hillman Marsh- Mar.31.
I was scanning close to the
Feed Shed looking northeast into the cell when I found it along the reeds.
My daughter and I last saw this rare Teal at 6:44pm so there is a good
chance it may be there Saturday. As far as I know this is the 4th record for
the Pelee Birding Area.

Thursday evening I had a Male Eurasian Wigeon -same area.

Also 3 Great Egrets tonight as well.
