Hi All,
On our way home from work today, we spotted approximately 12 Swans in Elevator Bay between the Dupont Plant and a row of townhouses known as Commodore's Cove along Front Road in Kingston. The light was rapidly fading but we still managed to get a good look at them with our binoculars and are fairly certain that these are Tundra Swans based on the shape of their necks and the shape and colour of their beaks. There were at least three immature Tundra Swans in amongst the adults.

With the grey sky (it was drizzling) and water and the fading light, these large, stark-white birds looked quite resplendent as they gracefully floated about the bay.

Cheers,

Directions:
Take the 611 turn-off on the 401 at the west end of Kingston and turn south. Drive down Gardiner's Road until you reach a major intersection with Bath Road (an A&P store is at this intersection). Turn right onto Bath Road then immediately turn left at the next traffic light onto Days Road. Follow Days Road to the very end and turn left onto Front Road at the traffic light (an auto repair shop is at this intersection). Elevator Bay is on your right-hand side immediately after the second set of traffic lights that turn into the Dupont Plant.
