Over 35 Bald Eagles were reported yesterday, December 27, on the =
Kawartha Field Naturalists Christmas Bird Count (Fenelon Falls) by =
counters who canoed from Coboconk down the east side of Indian Point to =
Rosedale. They said this was a very conservative number. Today, Stephen =
O'Donnell, Judy Arai, Susan Blayney and I saw at least 8 Bald Eagles =
from the docks of the Royal Resort located near Highway 35 and the Third =
Concession of Somerville. We saw 12 Bald Eagles on a small Island just =
south of the private bridge near the end of Juniper Isle Road a few =
kilometres north of the Royal Resort and two more Eagles from the south =
end of Indian Point. Common Mergansers- over 1,000 birds- extended =
beyond scope range throughout this area. To get to Indian Point road, =
turn west off Highway 35 on to Grandy Road in downtown Coboconk.

Hi
=20
I finally got a good look at the Razorbill (happy dance) this morning. =
We were watching from the Gazebo. We found it twice sometime between 8 =
am and 8:45. It was closer to Fort Niagara (on the US side) than the =
green bouy both times. First time it was in flight and once it settled =
on the water it was difficult to see. The second time it was a bit =
closer to us and sitting in the water. When it took flight it headed =
past the green bouy.

DIRECTIONS:
The parkette in NOTL is found by taking Niagara Stone Rd (CR55) from the =
QEW, to it's terminus at the golf course in NOTL. Turn right here on =
Queen St, then left just after the golf course clubhouse (The Charles =
Inn is on the corner), follow to the lake and turn right, you will see =
the park on the left, view from the top of the hill, scope is =
recommended.
