The Razorbill that has been at the mouth of the Niagara River since November
has not been reported since Sunday, Jan. 7th. We looked for an hour this
morning, others did as well, but as far as I am aware, nobody saw it.

The adult CALIFORNIA GULL was at the power plants along with two
BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKES, one in juvenal plumage and one in first-basic
plumage. Also there were several ICELAND GULLS and two THAYER'S-type gulls
(one adult, one second-basic).

The snow and sleet cut our day short at noon but on the way home we came
across a flock of field birds that included about 150 HORNED LARKS and at
least 50 LAPLAND LONGSPURS. These birds were on the north side of
Youngstown-Wilson Road at Fitch Road in the Town of Wilson, Niagara County,
NY. A couple thousand gulls (mainly Ring-billed) were in this and nearby
fields.

Good birding!
